There are cats, and there are cats. My cat George was a feline wonder whose legend will live on forever. He inspired a lot of paintings, all of them peaceful, meaningful.
The canvas/surface of this piece is rough and messy, because it's been through many incarnations. Layers have been glued on, then ripped off. The entire nature of the piece started in one place and then took a very long time to get where it is now. She is contemplative, and the cat is softly content. Life is wondrous.
