When Minneapolis was being taken over by violence, I went inward and prayed, in my own way, for all my friends there. Thoughts are powerful things. I quietly pulled together treasures from my studio and gifted them to this person: ferns from the Vermont woods, butterfly wings left in my driveway, books and music from my shelves, and gingko leaves collected from a park in Minneapolis. Talismans to make the prayer stronger. The fish represents another realm (water) that resonates with me.
